Rating: - Time Trials are Fun, Rest of Game = Dissapointing
I wanted to love this game, and I did, for a while. I enjoyed the demo for this game a lot and replayed the time trials it constantly. Unfortunately, as I played through the full version of this game, I was extremely disappointed. Yes, the game gives an unique experience with the semi-parkour action, but the part of the game that takes so much away from the fun is the combat. Combat is frustrating and often times near impossible. I don't mind missing a jump on occasion, since once I make the jump (eventually), it's a great feeling. However, being shot in the face ten times in a row due to the game's extremely poor combat controls is not fun, even after you eventually get that bad guy.
The only saving grace this game has are the time trials, which require play-through the single player campaign to unlock. The time trials are fun and what this game should've been - getting into the rhythm of slides, jumps, etc. as you navigate yourself through the level. I'm upset that I paid full price for this game since I only really play a portion of it.
I'm hoping that Mirror's Edge 2, if there ever is one, removes combat completely.
Rating: - Truly Unique
Mirror's Edge is, without a doubt, a masterpiece in terms of its presentation, full-body awareness, ease of play, and overall design. The fact is, the gameplay and style of Mirror's Edge is one-of-a-kind, and that kind is not for everyone. I myself would probably put my 2-3 playthroughs down as some of the most fun I've ever had gaming, but a lot of people may not be able to get into the platforming. Mirror's edge gives gamers a new way of moving and interacting with the world that can be very, very cool if you enjoy that kind of thing.
That said, the real setback is that the game comes with a (when I bought it) $60 pricetag, and though I find that it has a lot of replay value, some people may only play through the story mode once and then be done with it (a feat which takes at max 6-7 hours). The game would have greatly benefited from being longer, though not at the expense of the other aspects of the game. Like I said, the game is fantastic while it lasts, and while the pricetag may daunt you for 6-7 hours of story, it's certainly worth splitting the cost with a friend.

This game is intense and fresh, and will make you dizzy, but it is fun to play!

This was one of those games that was made just to Showcase the Power of the systems...but its not really a game i would Play for a long period of time...plus Assassins Creed and every Spiderman game after part 2 have already tackled the whole "Building Hopping" theme and are Better Games than Mirrors Edge. i say try the Demo and see how you like it. good graphics. decent controls..but it wont keep you interested for long. try the demo of Mirrors Edge for Free on xbox Live..then try Assassins Creed for 15 bucks at Gamestop. better experience and 45 bucks cheaper.

I just got the game recently for a holiday gift. It is so good! I only played one of the chapters just to see what the game was like. It was great. I stayed on the training level for 15 minutes after learning the controls very quickly just to jump around and play around with the game. The game has many great features and small little extra bonuses that are new or rare to video game style. If you are considering buying this game, you no longer have to worry; buy it. All thumbs up!
