Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - High School Musical 2
First of my 10 year old says its dumb, she likes the 1st one and GBA one.She hates this one .It may be a lil hard for her I dunno.
I like it although sometimes you must go do somethijng for someone and its hard to find out where so it seems like your running around in circles.
I think its a good game but not as good as 1 maybe just a lil longer,I hope when 3 comes out it will be better.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Annoyingly addictive and frustrating
I have to say as an early 20-something, I'm not in the target audience for High School Musical. Yet, I have both movies and the concert on DVD. And now I have tried my first game. Am I a convert? Not really.

I did play the game straight away, and although it took me a few tries to get my head around it, I did eventually. The controls aren't that obvious. Plus, it's not entirely obvious who you're playing as. You can either play as Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad or Taylor, but you don't really get to choose. The game flicks between characters too quickly. You get to do different tasks as different characters, but the tasks are very repetitive and frustrating. And as you go through the levels, the tasks get slightly harder each time. The making sandwiches task? Nearly impossible. This game is aimed at 3+, and I struggled with some of it.

It's near enough impossible to find the person you're looking for too. There's too many people wandering about and although you get told where to look for the person, it's never obvious.

My other quibble with the game is that for a High School Musical game, featuring the likenesses of the actors, and the songs - the songs are NOT as they are in the movie. It was a while before I realised (listening to "Fabulous" some of the brand names are replaced with something different), and it's probably cheaper singers singing the songs. So what happened? Could they not get the rights to have the same songs? It's a bit false in that sense.

Apart from that, it only took me a couple of days to complete and after that, there's nothing else to do. You can do the tasks again, but what's the point? The game is completed. It doesn't have the staying power like Theme Park for example - I've been playing that since May, and I may play other games in between, but I always go back to that. Buy it cheap, cos there is absolutely no staying power.
